epa09658521 (FILE) - The iconic Euro scukpture by Ottmar Horl stands in front of the old European Central Bank (ECB) building in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, 19 October 2020 (reissued 28 December 2021). The ECB moved to their new building in Frankfurt's Ostend district which officially was opened in early 2015. The new year's 01 January 2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the introduction of Europe's first ever single currency. A dozen European countries with Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain initially joined in blazing the euro trail.
